Microsoft has made the Windows Marketplace for Mobile available on Windows Mobile 6.0 and Windows Mobile 6.1 phones, in addition to Windows Mobile 6.5 phones. This means that all users with devices running Windows Mobile 6.x can now access Marketplace from their phone. Download instructions for these users are available at Microsoft.com/WindowsMobile, or they can simply navigate to mp.windowsphone.com on their phone's Web browser.

To push this forward, Microsoft is launching a multi-faceted online marketing campaign to make sure Web users are aware that the Marketplace is available for devices running Windows Mobile 6, 6.1, and 6.5. "As of November 16, over 1,000 registered ISVs have helped contribute to our pipeline of more than 800 registered apps," a Microsoft representative told Ars. When the store launched last month, it had 246 apps.
