Windows Mobile 7 testing starting in early 2010?

Microsoft is getting ready to release Windows Mobile 7 to OEMs for testing in Q1 2010, with a launch date set for Q3 2010, according to ZDNet Taiwan (Chinese via WMPoweruser). The testing program is reportedly named "Maldives" and is meant to collect feedback from OEMs, but this also means we'll likely see leaks early next year, just like we saw with Windows Mobile 6.5—and pretty much any beta operating system Microsoft gives someone to test. As always, we used Bing and Google to translate the Chinese text, so something could have been lost in translation, but given the previous rumors, these aren't too far-fetched (it's a bit later than what we've heard so far, a year after the launch of Windows Mobile 6.5, which is more plausible given the software giant's history).
